These little lights were a pleasant surprise once they turned on at night. We get sun over half the day, so these lights stay lit from dusk until dawn. The description says its made of glass, but thankfully mine was made of plastic. They have so far withstood the brutal Texas summers with countless days of scaldingly hot direct sunlight with triple digit heat, and they seem to be doing well in the rain. We are subjected to ice storms every winter season, so hopefully these lights will survive. The light is a warm yellow, with a perfect evening ambiance of neither too bright or too dim. Definitely a great buy that adds a lovely welcoming touch to our balony.UPDATE: these little lights survived a snowy and icy/freezing winter, as well as wind gusts of almost 80mph during a strong windstorm, with no problems whatsoever. From time to time, some of the bulbs brightness will look dim, but a little twist of the bulbs cap fixes that. Definitely a great product!
