These lights are perfect for our basement, where we rarely go (but when we do our hands are usually full of stuff we're taking down there). They are sensitive to movement and turn off after about 30 seconds of stillness. Best of all, they are remarkably bright, doing a great job of lighting up an area immediately, even before you walk in the room. Open the door, the lights are on before the door is even an inch open.I've installed two of these so far, placed in strategic places to light up our server room and a path to the rest of the basement. But I am reluctant to install more because each one uses four AAA batteries. Because I like to use Ultimate Lithium batteries, this can get expensive. Sixteen batteries almost cost more than these lights do.Before I install the last two light strips, I'm going to wait and see how long the batteries last in the first two. But these heavy-duty fixtures, well-made of aluminum and built to last, are probably worth buying a few more batteries for. The lights aren't ever on for very long, so I expect the battery issue will be irrelevant. Other than that -- which is not really the fault of the manufacturer -- I love these closet lights and highly recommend them.
