EASY TO INSTALL. This hitch offers a custom, factory fit on select model years of the Cadillac SRX
Installation was fairly straight forward. There are videos on Youtube for reference. As one reviewer states here there is no need to cut the heat shield around the spare tire. Just fold it out of the way. Once you have the hitch bolted up just fold the shield back down. A couple of tips; I do recommend cleaning the threads before attempting to put the bolts in. I used penetrating oil and an old toothbrush. It took some scrubbing but it got done. If you have access to air tools this makes the job much easier since there isn't a lot of room for turning a ratchet in there. This does weigh 51 pounds so getting it up to bolt in by yourself will be a challenge. I laid the hitch on my belly and slid under the rear. I then bench pressed it in place and had my wife start two bolts. Use some spray silicone rubber lube to get the exhaust hanger mounts loose as this will reduce your effort getting those lose tremendously. I used a ratchet strap to support the tail pipes. It looks very nice installed. No one will know you did it yourself.
