Light works well. Instructions, as others have noted are a bit lacking, but can be found easily enough.Turn on by holding 3 seconds. Turn off by holding 3 seconds.It turns on in "night" mode (blue light). Press power again to switch to "day" (red light), press again to switch to "always on" (blue and red light, and the main light too). Day will turn on with motion, regardless of ambient light. Night turns on with motion, only in low light. Always on is self-explanitory.The mounting is where it is a bit off. You can mount it to a ceiling just fine. You can mount it to a wall, but only if the light is horizontal. There are small ridges that run the length of the light, so when horizontal, these ridges catch the edge of the magnet, no problem. BUT - vertical on a wall is a no go. There is not a ridge on the small ends of the light, so it just slides down the magnet. I got around this by putting a small piece of adhesive foam on the bottom of the vertical magnet, and putting the light just above that. Magnet holds it against the wall, the small piece of foam keeps it from sliding down. If they had a ridge all the way around on the back side, this would not have been needed.I don’t have lights in my closets which sucks especially when I wake up before the sun comes up. I looked around and these were the best bang for your buck. I charged them all when I got them and set them to dark mode and it’s been over a month and I have yet to charge them. I also love that they automatically turn off after 20 secsIn full disclosure we got these lights fully rebated through the amazing program that Vont has if you sign up. The lights are not intuitive to set up and the paperwork that comes with it is not sufficient so anyone that purchases this should go on the Vont web site and read the instructions. There are issues with mounting it using the adhesive magnetic strip especially if it is mounted vertically. When it is mounted this way the light easily slides off the magnetic adhesive strip that is provided. The light has an edge on the back that prevents this when mounted horizontally but not vertically. This can easily be fixed by adding a piece of think tape to one end and then mounting it so that end is on the top. Thin tape will do if you use multiple layers. Think that the design would have been better had it come with Velcro instead of a magnetic back. This could also be used instead of the suggested tape edge if you have it. Although the magnet in the light is quite strong the mounting force is not great from the adhesive strip so the light could easily be dislodged if you bump into it.You need the ability to dismount the light since it has to be charged periodically with a USB-C charger.The lights are not as bright as I expected them to be considering how many LED's are used but this would make an excellent motion activated night light for travel or in a location where you don't have a plug handy. That isn't mentioned as a potential use.I'm a huge fan of the Vont products so when I'm in the market for anything that requires power, I look for Vont first. I really like these lights but they don't work for under the cabinets very well. The problem is that under the cabinets stay too dark so the motion sensors still work during the day. With them going on and off all day, the batteries drain fast (like a week max). I'm definitely keeping them but will be using them for other things instead (like under the sink, in closets, etc.).I had planned on using these above my kitchen sink for some additional light but once my daughter saw them she snatched one for her closet. I installed 2 of them above the sink and one in a closet. They work pretty well for the closet. The magnet strip it comes with is a bit weak but will hold it. The magnet in the light itself is pretty strong so if there is a metal strip it will hold quite tight. They haven’t fallen yet so we will see but I may instal a metal strip in her closet for it to hold to if it falls. For the kitchen 2 lights are okay. They don’t have enough power to do much during the day but in the evening they work pretty well lighting my sink for dishes and whatnot. They motion sensors are pretty sensitive so I covered half the sensor with tape because they were turning on everyone I walked by the sink. They are not quite perfect yet but are pretty close. If I walk directly up to the sink or wave my hand near them they come on as they should. Haven’t had to charge them yet either so doing fairly well. They only stay on for a couple minutes so that helps conserve battery power. They do stay on while I’m washing dishes so they have done fairly well. If they were a bit brighter and had a stronger mounting magnet they would get 5 stars, but are reasonably priced to only bring them down a star. Quality product that will work well in specific conditions (small area with low light and metal to mount to) and with a little modification can work in most conditions.I installed these inside a safe. I open the safe, wave my hand, and they turn on. They come with magnets. I added velcro because my safe has carpet inside it. So I can remove and charge them when they need it. Very happy with the various Vont products that I own.I used these motion detector lights in various places around my house so I wouldn't stumble in the dark. I also like that they are rechargeable via USB rather than battery powered.These lights are great in concept. It would be perfect if the following were taken care of: 1. Hide the LED beads and make it one bright bar, although these dozens of light dots are not directly visible when mounted under the cabinet, but they can be seen in the reflection from the countertop. 2. Make the white light more natural, there is too much green in the spectrum. It would be even nicer to have color temp. selection. 3. Make them linkable or sync-able so all units mounted in one kitchen can be triggered together and turned off together.
